A Taiwanese romance, drama, comedy and music film that touched the hearts of many people. In the 1940s, towards the end of the Japanese occupation in Taiwan, a Japanese teacher fell in love with a local girl who planned to elope with him. However, the time came when he decided to leave the girl behind and return to Japan by himself. Regretting his choice, he expressed his love and sorrows in the form of letters. In the 21st century, Taiwan, an unsuccessful band singer, Aga (Van Fan) returns to Heng Chun from Taipei. He takes over the position of the old postman and comes across a pile of letters. He meets Tomoko, a Japanese model, who is assigned the task to organise a concert on the beach. The two bring together other residents of Heng Chun who seemed like every other ordinary person and assembled a band. Friends and foes, a conflict of styles and attitudes, can they come together and perform the impossible? Meanwhile, 60 years ago till now, the letters remain unsent..
