SG New Wave presents Little Miss Sunshine, a movie about a dys­func­tional fam­ily going on cross coun­try trip to get their youngest daugh­ter, Olive, into a beauty pageant. The film received crit­i­cal acclaim and won 2 Academy Awards for Best Writing, Original Screenplay and Best Performance by an Actor in Supporting Role (Alan Arkin). The screen­play was well known to have brought out vivid char­ac­ters from young Olive to her Grandpa Hoover. Little Miss Sunshine is a light­hearted com­edy drama which high­lights the impor­tance of fam­ily and “com­ing together” to sup­port one another in times of hard­ships.
