Calling all superhero fans! Marvel is up to give us more butt-kicking action in their upcoming fictional comic-adaptation flick that is scheduled for release in August next year – Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Although no casting decisions for the alien-themed galaxy-saving flick have been made yet, speculations on shortlisted actors have been creating quite a buzz online lately, especially when Marvel is determined to make the film a wild one. Just how wild are they aiming for?

According to Latino Review, Marvel revealed that they are looking into casting A-list comedians Jim Carey (Batman Forever, 1995) and Adam Sandler (50 First Dates, 2004) for “comic-relief”!

Will both Jim Carey and Adam Sandler lend their wacky voices to the more comedic non-human guardians? Who will take up the role of the itsy bitsy but loud Rocket Raccoon? Only time will tell.

The charming Joseph-Gordon Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, 2012) have also been said to have “passed” the role of Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord), the half-human half-alien leader of the guardians. Actors Jim Sturgess, Zachary Levi and Lee Pace were among the list as well.

Directed by James Gunn, filming of the Guardians Of The Galaxy in 3D will commence mid-2013 at the Shepperton Studios in UK. Nice guess but no, it will not be filmed at the galaxy.

Guardians Of The Galaxy will hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
