Craig disappointed with Cruz being the Next and Oldest Bond Girl?

It has been revealed that the Oscar-winning Spanish Beauty Penelope Cruz (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, 2011) will be the next Bond girl!

During an interview with DailyMail last year, Craig picked Rihanna to be first choice as the M16 agent’s next love interest claiming that “she’s dirtier” as compared to Beyonce. We are guessing Daniel Craig, aka Mr. Blonde Bond, must be somewhat disappointed. This makes us wonder if Craig will mind having an older bond girl for a change…

With the filming of the yet-to-be-titled Skyfall sequel commencing shortly after Cruz’s 40th birthday next summer, she will be taking over Honor Blackman’s (Goldfinger, 1964) title as the “Oldest Bond Girl” in the whole of 007 history.

The producers mentioned that they “have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now.”

Did we mention that she is pregnant now?

“She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her figure quickly this time,” said a source. “She’ll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that’s totally Penelope.”

Sounds like Penelope got herself a role as a Femme Fatale…but what we really want to know is if Silva, the evil villain played by Javier Bardem (Skyfall, 2012) aka Cruz’s hubby, would approve of her being Bond’s girl!

Craig and Cruz will star alongside Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw and Naomie Harris in the official 24th Bond film that will, once again, be directed by Sam Mendes.
